Richard Bond Omohundro's Obituary
Richard Bond Omohundro , age 87, of Goodlettsville, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 11, 2022 at Vanco Manor, Goodlettsville, Tn.
Born in Nashville, TN on March 6, 1934, he graduated from Goodlettsville High School, later earning a B.S. degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1956. He continued Masters studies in math and law. He spent his career employed by TDOT for over 30 years, retiring as Director of Construction in 1992.
Preceded in death by his son, Randall Omohundro and three siblings. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Omohundro, son Rick (Marsha) Omohundro. Also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike in Nashville. The family will also receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 15 from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm also at the funeral home. The committal service will immediately follow.
Pallbearer include Bryan Omohundro, Jared Collier, Frank Collier, Stephen Kerstiens, Dean Norton and Noel Dyer.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital in his honor.
