Mr. Richard Kent Tharp's Obituary
Richard Kent Tharp, 59, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021. Born February 26, 1962 in Madison, he was the son of the late Clovis Wayne Tharp and Roberta Cowden.
Rick worked for DSS Pro Diesel for 40 years. He loved to fish and spend time with family and friends. He was a gifted machinist and handyman who could fix anything that didn’t work or needed repairs. A true Jack of all trades.
He was a kind, selfless, generous, humble and loyal friend. He was a loving husband, father, PaPaw, and brother who will be missed dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Wayne Tharp; paternal grandparents Clovis and Elsie Tharp; maternal grandparents James and Earline Reagan.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Lori Ann Tharp; son Jonathan Wayne (Kimberly) Tharp; daughter Jennifer (Brian) Haley; sister Kimberly (Jerry) Sircy; grandchildren Taylor and Alex; and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, July 15, from 4 PM until 8 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1 PM on Friday, July 16 at the funeral home with Ron Becton and Wayne Miller officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors two hours prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
