Mr. Richard Chrisler Yeager's Obituary
Richard “Chris” Yeager, 35, beloved son, brother, and friend, of New Orleans, LA, passed away on September 22, 2014.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on October 4, 2014 at Spring Hill Cemetery (graveside). The Rev. Alan Black, Dist. Supt. Columbia District, United Methodist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held immediately following the service at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
Chris was born in Dothan, Alabama on December 28, 1978. He graduated from Huntsville High School (Huntsville, AL) and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He also attended graduate school at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
Chris was an accomplished musician, vocalist and composer. Through his music, he touched the lives of hundreds, possibly thousands as has been seen by the outpouring of love and support for the family that has come literally from people around the globe. His kind, gentle, sweet, and unassuming manner made him an instant friend to almost everyone. He never realized how special he was to so many.
Chris is survived by his mother, Ann Yeager of Palm Coast, FL, father and step-mother, Bill and Ginny Yeager of Newport, TN, brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Victoria Yeager of Columbus, MS, step-brother, Jaremy Black of Owens Cross Roads, AL, grandmother, Lois White of Tucson, AZ, and grandfather, John White and wife Judy of Madison, AL.
Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents, “Hap” and Margaret Yeager of Nashville, TN.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The University of Southern Mississippi Honors College through the USM Foundation and mailed to 118 College Drive #5210, Hattiesburg, Mississippi 39406. Please note that the gift is made in memory of Richard (Chris) Yeager.
