Rita Bledsoe Hollingsworth's Obituary
HOLLINGSWORTH, Rita Bledsoe; of Nashville passed away July 28, 2009. Born June 14, 1931 to Henry Lee Bledsoe, Sr. and Pearlie Beasley Bledsoe of Nashville. She was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School and George Peabody College for Teachers. She was married to James N. Hollingsworth who preceded her in death. She is survived by their two children, James N. Hollingsworth Jr., and Julie (Dale) Webb. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Henry Lee Bledsoe, Jr. She is survived by a brother Robert Bledsoe of Texas and a sister Ann (WD) Lannom of Hendersonville, TN. She taught elementary school in the Davidson County School System for 30 years and retired from Amqui Elementary School. She was a dedicated Christian who studied the Bible, demonstrated a strong faith and taught the Volunteer Class for Young Adults at Inglewood United Methodist Church for several years. She loved her family, Litton classmates, neighbors, church, and art friends. A talented artist, she received several awards and was an enthusiastic member of Tennessee Art League. In recent years, she attended Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and her family extends special thanks for all the love and support shown to her and her family. Visitation will be Friday from 10AM-Noon at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at Noon with Rev. Bud Russell officiating. Interment will follow at 2PM at Nashville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3705 Brush Hill Rd., Nashville, TN 37216
