It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ms. Rita Ann Gillian Frensley on September 20th, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Rita was born in Birmingham in the United Kingdom on March 27th, 1941, to George Robinson and Rose Prile Robinson. She was only seventeen years old when she arrived in the United States after she met the love of her life, Joseph Martin Earls, during his service in the United States Air Force, and they were married for 28 years until his passing in 1986. Her family affectionately describes her as a “professional shopper.” Their all-day weekend excursions to the mall were filled with fun and numerous new treasures. She loved to cruise around the world and took two cruises a year to new and exciting places. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and her beautiful spirit will be missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Martin Earls, and her brother Pete Robinson. She is survived by her children Lea Ann Baxter (David), Gary Earls (Kellie), and Jody Earls; sister Pauline Garton (John); brother Trevor Robinson (Dawn); grandchildren Angela, Jennifer, Sarah, Joseph, Emily, and Riley; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
The family cordially invites guests and relatives for a time of visitation on Monday, September 25th, 2023, from ten o’clock in the morning until the funeral service at twelve o’clock in the afternoon, all taking place at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216. Rita will be laid to rest with her husband Joseph at Nashville National Cemetery following the funeral service.
Arrangements for Ms. Frensley are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
