Mrs. Robbie Hawkins Odom's Obituary
Robbie Hawkins Odom, our sweet, genteel, southern lady. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born on August 31, 1931 and passed away October 15, 2013. Preceded in death by her parents, Zander Bain and Mary Dennis Hawkins, Father and Mother-in-law, Douglas and Louise Odom, Brother-in-law, Larry England. Survived by devoted husband of 64 years November, Douglas G. Odom, Sister, Billie Jean (Collins) O’Brien, Brother-in-law, Richard (Betty) Odom, Sisters-in-law, Judy (Ralph) Wilkerson and June England. Son and his family: Larry (Kathy) Odom, Angela (Tony) Rowland, Anthony, Savanah, and Dominic, Ainslie (Cole) Ellett and baby Ellett. Daughter and her family: Teresa (Mike) Gann, Ashley Nichols (Eric) Bright, Samuel and Eli, Scott (Sarah) Nichols, Sadie, Bennett, and Grayson. Daughter and her family: Debbie (Nathan) Massey, Joey Pace, Xander and Meredith, Ryan Pace, Mallory (Chase) Judkins, Leverett and Teagan Grace. She loved The Lord, her Doug, her family, home and friends. She loved to shop, travel, play tennis and golf. She loved gospel music, particularly Alan Jackson's Precious Memories Album. She was a member of City Road Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of the King’s Daughter’s Child Development Center Madison Circle, and an Auxiliary Volunteer at Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, October 19, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at City Road Chapel United Methodist Church with Dr. Lynn Hill and Dr. Ron Lowry officiating. Serving as active pallbearers will be her grandsons: Scott Nichols, Joey Pace, Ryan Pace, Eric Bright, Tony Rowland, Chase Judkins, and Cole Ellett. Honorary pallbearers will be the Living Word Sunday School Class, and the Couples Dinner Club. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The only public visitation will be Friday 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Tributes can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105, her favorite charity.
