Robert "Bob" Beasley Bledsoe's Obituary
Surrounded by his family, Robert “Bob” Beasley Bledsoe passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 in Flower Mound, Texas. He was also long-time resident of Houston, Texas.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the graveside service at 11:00 am all held at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road in Nashville Tennessee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rebecca “Becky” Long Bledsoe, his sister Ann Lannom of Hendersonville, TN, daughters Leslie Davis (Lawrence Schwimmer) of San Francisco, CA, Virginia Koepsell (Max) of Flower Mound, TX and daughter-in-law, Tricia Bledsoe of Splendora, TX. He was a proud grandparent to 7 grandchildren: Bradley Davis (Olya), Rebekah Davis (Jaimin Garabedian), Carson Bledsoe, Katrina Bledsoe, Hannah Bledsoe, Charlee Koepsell and Maci Koepsell and 6 great-grandchildren: Ellie, Jaxon, Brooklyn, Alexander, Maxim and Davis.
Born on November 3, 1934 in Nashville, Tennessee to Henry Lee Bledsoe and Pearlie Beasley Bledsoe, Bob attended Isaac Litton High School (class of 1953). He received both his BA and MBA in Civil Engineering at University of Tennessee, Knoxville and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. It was at the university that he met his wife, Becky.
Bob’s early career as a licensed Civil Engineer began with the Tennessee and Georgia Highway Departments until taking a permanent position with Law Engineering Testing Company in Birmingham AL, and Atlanta, GA, where he remained for over 25 years, holding several board positions and remained an active member of American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL). He then went on to start his own engineering company in Texas and in later years practiced as an independent engineering consultant in Houston until his retirement.
Known as a man of faith, wisdom and integrity, Bob used those qualities, mixed with his business knowledge and skills, to come alongside and bless the lives of the many people he mentored and guided.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Rita Hollingsworth and a brother, Henry Bledsoe, both of Nashville, TN, and two sons Robert Bledsoe Jr. and Anthony Bledsoe.
