Mr. Robert "Bob" Eugene Jeter's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Jeter, age 89 of Nashville passed away April 27, 2014. Bob was born on March 11, 1925 in Hannibal, Missouri to the late Lee and Mayme Jeter. He served in the United States Marine Corps with the 4th Marine Division during World War II. He retired from McKesson Drug Company after over 35 years of service. Bob was an elder in the Presbyterian Church and was a longtime member of Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church; he also volunteered with the American Diabetes Association and the East Nashville Cooperative Ministry. Many know Bob as an avid golfer, playing at Old Hickory Country Club where he was a member for many years. He eventually donated a putting and chipping green to Maybelle Carter Senior Living where he resided in his later years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Helen Jeter and his brothers, Harold and Donald Jeter. Bob is survived by his children, Sandra (Teryal) Littleton, Kathy (Kevin) Murphy and Richard (Vickie) Jeter; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and his brother, Howard Jeter. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 11:00 A.M. from the Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kenny Butcher officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, April 29th from 6-8 P.M. at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville. The family will have a private burial in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery on Wednesday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brush Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
