Mr. Robert Lewis Goodale's Obituary
Mr. Robert “Bob” Lewis Goodale, Sr., age 82 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Monday December 19, 2022. He was born on January 5, 1940 in Waltham, Massachusetts to the late Winfield and Florence Goodale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Christopher Goodale and Charles Andre, as well as his sister Donna Sizemore. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Colleen Hitchins Goodale, daughters Cheri Flaherty, Colette Andre, Lorri Covington (Chreole), and Tracy Goodale; sons Robert Goodale, Jr. (Diana), Richard "Ricky" Goodale, Jonathan Goodale, James Goodale, Jerome Goodale, Mitchell “Mitch” Copeland, and Michael Anderson. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Bob was a loving, generous, and kind hearted person, and a natural born caretaker. He was patient and always put others first. Bob was easy to talk to, and you never had to wonder what was on his mind, because he would certainly let you know. Over the years, Bob and Colleen opened their home to several children they eventually adopted, and they were even recognized as recipients of the Congressional Adoption Angels Award. Bob was a caring and devoted father. He always made sure that all of his children had everything they needed, and he loved all his children equally, whether they were his biological children or adopted children he loved and cared for them all the same. Bob also proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962, and spent the rest of his career as a Registered Nurse. Bob was very intelligent, and always wanted to learn as much as he could. So much so in fact, that he went on to earn his Doctorate of Nursing after retirement. Several of his children and grandchildren have followed in his footsteps with a love of education, healthcare, and serving their country, and he was very proud. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 12pm-2pm, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 2pm in the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Burial in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery will follow.
