Mr. Robert Edward Hyde Sr.'s Obituary
Robert Edward Hyde Sr., age 97, of Gordonsville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tamble and Daisy Hyde; his wife, Jane waller Hyde; one daughter, Pamela Lynn Hyde; one brother, Tamble Hyde Jr.; two sisters, Louise Hargis and Bonnie Benzenhafer. Robert is survived by two sons, Jim Hyde (Brenda), Robert Hyde Jr. (Charlotte); three grandchildren, Andy Hyde (Lisa), Cammie Duncan (John), Luke Hyde (Brooke); and seven great-grandchildren. Robert was a 1940 graduate of Isaac Litton High School and a member of Ionic Masonic Lodge. He was very customer service oriented in his work and had relationships with some of his customers outside of work and considered them friends more that customers. He was considered a hard worker all his life by those that knew him. Robert was very generous to those around him and very courteous. Aside from his professional career he enjoyed wood working and making furniture for family members. He was also very active in First Lutheran Church Nashville, serving in various roles and helping where needed. Robert will be missed by all those who knew him and loved him. Visitation for Robert will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 4 PM until 7 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, Tennessee, 37216. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted from the Chapel at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11 AM, with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, A Nashville landmark since 1785, “Where Nashville Comes to Remember”
