Robert Edward Imes, Sr.'s Obituary
Robert Edward Imes Sr. age 82 of Goodlettsville, TN formerly of Celina, TN passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Nashville, TN. He served in the U. S Army from 1952 until 1954, a veteran of the Korean War and Lifetime member of the VFW. He retired from Union Boiler Construction Co. in Nitro, WV and attended Apostolic Gospel Church for 35 years in Ironton, OH. He served as board member and Sunday school superintendent. He later served as a board member of the United Pentecostal Church in Livingston, TN and was currently attending Goodlettsville Pentecostal Church. Mr. Imes was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Clara Imes; siblings, Stanley Imes, Raymond Imes, William (Bill) Imes, Edna Henry, Fred Imes, Paul Imes, Mary Lucille Imes, and infant brother, Louis Imes. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Janet L. Imes; son, Robert Imes Jr.; daughter, Garnet Imes and husband, Ronnie Bowman; grandchildren, Chassidy (Scott) Miller and Christy (Shaun) Bottoms; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Isaiah Miller; siblings, Dorothy Smith of Springfield, OH, LeRoy Imes of Panama City, FL, Mildred Fitzwater of Indianapolis, IN, Helen Imes of Ironton, OH and Ralph Imes of Ironton, OH. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 10 am – 1 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home, Nashville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
