Mr. Robert "Bob" Charles Murdock's Obituary
Mr. Robert “Bob” Charles Murdock, age 66, of Joelton passed away Friday, June 12, 2015. He was born August 17, 1948 in Coweta, OK to the late Robert and Virginia Murdock.
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. His family describes him as being a “Riot” with his endless humor and joking nature. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For his honorable service to his country he was decorated with several medals which include the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart. Later in life, he retired from Bellsouth after 33 years of service.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carole Murdock; children, Rob Murdock, Angie Etheridge (Phillip), Terri Dowlen and Mandi Key (Chris); sister Janet Woodard (Glen); eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 4 – 8 p.m., Tuesday evening from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Bob’s honorable service to his country.
