Mr. Robert Virgle Tate's Obituary
Robert Virgle Tate, age 89 of Madison passed away June 30, 2014. Robert was born on January 9, 1925 in Milan, TN. He will be remembered as a kind man who always saw the best in people and who always brought out the best in people. Robert will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was a local businessman working for many years as a butcher for the H.G. Hill Company and later in the car business owning several dealerships in Inglewood, Rivergate and Madison; and was a longtime member of Jackson Park Church of Christ. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence D., Annie W. and Mary B. Tate, and his brother, James Tate. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Peggy Tate; son Kenny (Shea) Tate, granddaughter, Casey Tate; brother, Jesse (Carolyn) Tate; sister, Evelyn (Ted) Coleman; sister-in-law, Dorothy Tate and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, July 3rd at 1:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Olive officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, July 2nd from 4-7 P.M. and on Thursday from 12 P.M. until service time. Flowers are welcome; however memorial donations may be made to Alive Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
