Mr. Robert Lonnie Thompson, father and friend, passed away peacefully at St. Thomas Rutherford on February 25, 2025. He was 76 years old.
Robert was born on November 13, 1948, in Scotts Hill, TN, to Monroe Benford and Mary Ann Thompson.
Robert proudly served his country in both the Air Force and the Army, demonstrating his dedication and patriotism. Robert was a devout, Christian man and faithfully attended services whenever the church gathered. Could often be found reading the Bible before bed and shared his faith with his family and friends. He was a devoted family man, and he lived for his kids.
Robert grew up on a farm and always enjoyed taking care of all the animals. When one of his children's 4H projects involved raising chickens, he enthusiastically, jumped in to help. By the time the project was complete, Robert had discovered a new passion for raising chickens.
He is survived by his three children, Patty (Richard) Chappell, Robert Thompson, and Richard Thompson, who will forever cherish his memory.
