Robert Nathan Vanderpool's Obituary
Robert Nathan Vanderpool, 64, of Nashville TN, went to join his wife in Heaven on February 22, 2025.
Robert, aka Rob or Robbie, was born on October 7, 1960 to Albert Doyle and Diana Marie Vanderpool. He was a loving husband to his wife Carol Renee (Andrews) which he married at the age of 16. Together they raised three children-April, Shawna, and Patrick.
Robert provided for his family as a mechanic most of his life. He later became a CDL truck driver and started his own delivery business. His work continues through his son Patrick, whom he worked alongside daily.
Robert leaves a tremendous legacy. To say he was a good man is an understatement. He was a man of few words, unless it included finances or politics. If there was a baby in the room, you would find him holding them and inspecting all fingers, toes, and hair. He was a generous man that helped anyone in need. He was a true hero that led by example.
Robert had an enthusiasm for travel. Over the years he vacationed with his family on cruises, to tropical destinations, and to "The happiest place on Earth". Although he would say it was a waste of money, he enjoyed gambling at the casino and buying scratch offs for recreation. There was always a hope of hitting it big. He was a collector of sports memorabilia and had an extensive coin collection.
Robert had a quirky sense of humor. He was known for his quick wit and infectious laughter. He had the ability to make anyone smile with his dry sense of humor.
Robert was preceded in death by his father Doyle Vanderpool, his loving wife of 46 years Renee Vanderpool, his grandson Tyler Lindsey, and his nephew Elijah Vanderpool.
He is survived by his mother Diana Vanderpool. Siblings Tony Vanderpool, Kerry Ferguson, and Stevie
Vanderpool. Three children April (Bernard) Squire, Shawna (Randy) Lindsey, and Patrick (Ashley) Vanderpool. Grandchildren Jason Bond, Kameron Bond, Cassidy Bond, Alexis Lindsey, Hunter (Makayla) Lindsey, Hailey (Brad) Vanderpool, Chase (Lisa) Vanderpool, Logan (Hannah) Vanderpool. Great-Grandchildren Jacob, Camden, Delilah, Landyn, Gracelynn, Liam and two on the way.
