At a young age, Roeun Nhiem left his home in Khet Kandal, Cambodia in 1979 during war time for a better opportunity for his family. He came to America in February 1986 with his wife and three children. Despite facing many challenges while immigrating to a new country, he relentlessly worked hard to provide for his family. He valued family above all else and was a pillar of strength and resilience. His most treasured moments were spending time with family. He was a loving Husband and devoted Christian. His grandchildren brought him immense joy and he loved spoiling them. He loved to cook and loved sharing his cooking. He was funny, charismatic, generous and had a lively soul. He had a passion for cars. He loved Khmer music and enjoyed keeping up with international news and politics.
Roeun passed away surrounded by family and ascended into Heaven on March 17, 2024. He was a Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He was preceded in death by his Father Nhiem Om, Mother Ya Mew, Brother Vuth, and First-born Son Samat. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Horn. His Sons; Samang, Sameng, Somal and Sopal. Daughters; Somath and Sophat. Grand Children; Kalem, Kiyomi, Kaiden, Kason, Emily, and Calem. His Brothers; Eam, Oun, Vorn and Sisters; Saboon and Sapun.
