Mr. Roger Gordon Simpkins' Obituary
Roger Gordon Simpkins, age 79, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Clara Simpkins; wife, Linda Sue Simpkins; three sisters, Norma Killeen and Sharon Kearley. He is survived by two daughters, Amber Pond, Dana Bates; two sons, Charles Simpkins, Keith Simpkins (Valerie); one sister, Barbara Quinn; two brothers, Howard Simpkins (Ruby), David Simpkins (Pam); sister Diane McKinney; six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
Roger was an incredible humanitarian and would do anything to help anyone in need, having never met a stranger. Often, he furnished lunches and snacks for needy children in areas of poverty. He was the Past President of the United Givers Foundation through the Ford Motor Company where he was also a huge advocate for the Ford Motor Company Safety Program where he often taught classes and appeared in films for the company. Aside from his professional career, he enjoyed fishing and the great outdoors and held state records in the fishing arena. Above all he was a faithful husband, father, and friend. He will be missed by all those who knew him and loved him. Roger’s wish was to be cremated and his ashes placed along side Linda’s at a private Celebration of Life Ceremony at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, 37216.
