I am a better person and physician for having known Dr. Gray. Even when I did not necessarily agree with him, his caring, understanding demeanor let me know he had my best interest at heart. So thankfully I listened. I am blessed to have known him. Prayers for Dianne and family. Please know I will help carry on his legacy in my own interactions with with those suffering from addiction.
Roland always had a smile on his face and gave me a big hug whenever I would see him. I describe him as Genuine and a gentleman. God Bless
I met Dr. Gray in the 1990s while working with the Tennessee Medical Association, and was delighted to continue working with him and getting to know him better when I joined the TMF staff in 2014. What a kind, gentle, and knowledgeable man and doctor! As medical director, he displayed compassion combined with honesty and pragmatism with our participants – exactly what was needed as they were guided along the path of recovery. He was missed in our offices when he retired, and will be deeply missed all the more now. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you grieve and remember him.

Dear Mrs. Gray and Family,
I only met Dr. Gray on a couple occasions but I felt as if I knew him better than that might suggest. Camilla would tear up on occasion when she spoke of him and what he did for her and meant to your family. So many personal stories...some funny, some sad, but all graced by someone she adored as all she could want in or expect from a loving father.
I was humbled to read a periodical upon his retirement earlier this year and the testimonials from a few of the people he had helped and worked with. The difference he made in the lives of so many as a healthcare professional was beyond value and was a gift he gave willingly time and again. No one could be a finer example of living the Serenity Prayer. It amplified what he meant to anyone and everyone he touched and cared for.
He was a great, great man and has deservedly moved on to God's kingdom forever and ever. At this difficult time, I pray for peace from God for each of you. And that you will take comfort from knowing of those he gave so much to and the stories they may tell. Many already known to you and perhaps others still to be shared.
