Mr. Ronald Sullivan's Obituary
Ronald H. Sullivan, age 73, of Nashville passed away on April 17, 2015. Ron was born in Davidson County, Tennessee to the late Homer and LouDella Sullivan on August 25, 1941. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Ron was retired from 34 years of proud service in the United States Army. He worked closely with the Air Force as a helicopter mechanic and even got to meet the members of the prestigious Blue Angels team.
His family recalls that Ron was a great human being. “He’d give you the shirt off his back,” his wife Georgia remembers. He was a man of many talents, too. Anyone who heard him sing said that he sounded like Marty Robbins. He also played a little guitar and was unbeatable at the card game, Rummy. “He could build anything,” says his step-daughter, Andrea.
Ron loved sports. In particular, he loved golf, car racing, and football. He also loved the old-time Westerns with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his siblings, and his son, Darrell Sullivan. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgia Angel Sullivan; children, Sharon Davis and Andrea Gentry (David); grandchildren, Joseph, Jason, Michah, Blakley, and Hunter; two great-grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives, all of whom he loved dearly.
Ron’s family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 19th and Monday, April 20th from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Additional visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 21st, from 9:00am until 11:00am. Pastor Brock Benson will lead a Celebration of Life service to honor Ron on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will follow with Full Military Honors at the Serenity Chapel Mausoleum of Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
