Mrs. Rosalyn Marie 'Rosie' Williams' Obituary
Rosalyn M. (Rosie) Williams of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, age 97, passed away on May 24, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Eula Winfrey: brother, Phillip Winfrey: sister Jean Trauernicht and sister Faye Winfrey Shoemake.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, L.S. Williams; children Thomas L. Williams (Dena) and daughter Patricia Faye Thompson (Rod) and various nieces and nephews. Rosie was born in Nashville Tennessee and graduated in 1944 from Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio. After graduation, she moved back to Nashville and began working at Nashville Bank and Trust Company until she and L.S. married.
Rosie and L.S. have been members of Dickerson Road Baptist Church for over 65 years and before that members of Inglewood Baptist Church. Rosie worked in the nursery at Dickerson Road Baptist for many years, was director of Homebound Department and later taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School class.
Rosie and L.S. enjoyed traveling in their RV and visiting campgrounds around the south fishing at various lakes near the campgrounds. Last year they moved to NHC Cool Springs.
Visitation will be held at Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Rd, Nashville, TN 37216 on Tuesday, May 30 from four to eight o’clock in the evening and again on Wednesday, May 31 from 9:30 to 10:00 with service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Dickerson Road Baptist Church, 3601 Dickerson Rd, Nashville, TN 37207.
