Roscoe W. Hunter's Obituary
HUNTER, Roscoe W. Age 93 of Madison, TN passed away August 26, 2012. He was born in Nashville, TN in 1918 to the late Porter and Bessie Hunter, in addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mamie Hunter; daughter, Shirley Kleber; sisters, Irene Kent, Juanita Wicks, Nancy Bumpus; granddaughters, Denise Carter and Andrea Parsons. Mr. Hunter was a member of Neely’s Bend Church of Christ, A member of the Madison Masonic Lodge # 762; retired from the U.S. Military after serving his country for 27 years, spending time in the South Pacific on 17 different islands and receiving countless awards, medals and commendations. After his retirement he owned and operated Hunter’s Neely’s Bend Grocery. He will be remembered for his contributions to the U.S. Military, his church and his community. A funeral ceremony will be on Wednesday August, 29, 2012 at 2PM in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Tidwell and Norman Slate officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8Pm and on Wednesday from Noon until 2.
