Roy L. Tanksley's Obituary
TANKSLEY, SR. Roy L. of Madison, TN passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the age of 78. Mr. Tanksley was the co-owner and President of Tanksley Transfer Co. for forty-two years. A member of Rivergate Church of Christ, he is survived by his loving wife of almost fifty-five years, Dixie Rice Tanksley; daughter, Margaret Rose Tanksley-Bond; sons, Roy L., Jr. and Andrew C. Tanksley; sister, Jane (Chris) Christiansen; brother, Gordon M. (Peggy) Tanksley and the entire Rice family who loved him as their own.. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 12 noon to 8 PM and one hour prior to the funeral services Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 12 noon with Dr. Sellers Crain officiating. Pallbearers: Jere Glaus, Baxter Rollins, Robert Napier, William H. Rice,Johnny Christiansen, Chris Ellis, John Christiansen, Reece Christiansen . Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
