Mr. Rubert Lee Sloan Sr.'s Obituary
Rubert Lee Sloan Sr., age 93, of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Roscoe and Alice Sloan; two brothers, Jackie Ward Sloan Sr., George Victory Sloan; one sister, Margaret June Sloan. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Sloan; two sons, Lance Sloan (Angie), Lee Sloan (Jamie); two grandchildren, William Lee Sloan, Anna Katherine Willis (Ethan); one great grandchild, Nora Lane Willis. Rubert proudly served his country during World War II. After his time in the service he owned and operated his own business for 20 years. Aside from his professional career and military service, Rubert loved to garden, spend time outdoors and was considered a hard worker. He was a very disciplined person and took great pride in his health. In his younger years he enjoyed taking his children to see the new car models that were coming out that year. He was always very supportive of his family and their accomplishments and was a devoted father. Rubert will be missed by all those who knew him and loved him. Visitation for Rubert will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 4 PM until 8 PM and again on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 11 AM until 12:00 PM at which time a Celebration of Life Funeral Ceremony will be conducted from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN, 37216. Burial will follow in historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
