Mrs. Ruby Martin Walker's Obituary
Mrs. Ruby Martin Eberhart Walker, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Alive Hospice at Madison Skyline Campus.
The Parsons, TN native was the daughter of the late John Herbert and Artie Jane Duck Martin. In her early years of college she sold Christian books during the summer to pay for tuition at Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, TN where she received her BA. She was a devout Christian for 78 years have been an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed gardening, interior decorating and most of all music with her guitar in hand. The love of her life was the church and her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph R. Walker; a daughter, Kerrie Jane (Jeff Parrish) Dill; two sons, Fred (Sherri Davis) Eberhart,III and John (Katrina) Eberhart; a sister, Frances (Ray) House; a brother, John Edward “Pepper” (Wanna) Martin; five grandchildren, Chelsey Eberhart, Stephen Eberhart, Lauren Johnson, Courtney Eberhart, and Amanda Eberhart; three great grandchildren; two step children, Mickey (Terry) Bodiford and Thayer (Joyce) Walker; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step daughter, Joanna Walker Mitchell; a sister, Opal (Odell) Maness.
A family memorial service and inurnment will be conducted Monday, May 26, 2014 at the family home place in Pinson, TN. A memorial service at the Seventh Day Adventist Church will be held at a time to be announced later.
