Russell Winfred Freeman's Obituary
Mr. Russell Winfred Freeman, a beloved resident of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away on March 7th, 2024. He was 80 years old.
Russ was a man of music and song, his soul forever dancing to the rhythm of life. His voice echoed through the hearts of all who knew him. Whether it was a small gathering or a lively celebration, he was the life of the party, his laughter contagious and his spirit uncontainable.
Born and raised in the vibrant neighborhood of East Nashville, Russell carried the heartbeat of his roots within him. He was a proud graduate of East High School, where he made lifelong friends.
Russ embraced life with fervor. He cherished his friends and family and enjoyed recounting times spent with them. Russ enjoyed traveling with his family and visited many wonderful destinations. Russ wrote the mantra “May the Music Never End” on his name card at a recent class reunion.
As the sun sets over the Cumberland River, we bid farewell to Russell Winfred Freeman. May his songs continue to echo in the wind, reminding us that life is meant to be lived with passion, laughter, and love.
Russ is survived by his family and a community of friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Dianne Freeman, three stepchildren and one stepson-in-law, four step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents George Frank Freeman and Laura Marie Williams Freeman, and brother Tommy Freeman.
The family invites guests and relatives for a time of visitation on Thursday, March 14th. 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM with a funeral service and burial to follow at Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216.
Final arrangements for Mr. Freeman are entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, “Where Nashville Comes to Remember.”
