Ruth Coursey Smith's Obituary
Smith, Ruth Pauline Coursey; February 9, 1922-July 2, 2012. She was a native of Spa, Ky and a resident of Nashville, TN. Ruth graduated from the Nashville Business College, and worked at the Baptist Sunday School Board. She was a member of Lockeland Baptist Church since 1955. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vick Smith. Daughter of the late Eva and Jack Coursey. Survived by two daughters, Vicki Russell (George) and Kathy Ruskin (late Don Ruskin), grandchildren, Matt Ruskin (Jill), Heather Hesson (Jay) and Jonathan Russell. Great grandchild; Jack Logan Hesson, sisters, Martha Wright and Mary Nelle Noe (Charles Mac), brothers, Danny Coursey (Shirley) and the late David Coursey (Wanda), a host of other family members and friends. A devoted Christian who taught her children and grandchildren the importance of loving God. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Lockeland Baptist Church 1601 Holly St. Nashville, TN 37206. Visitation on Thursday July 5, 2012 from 4-8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A visitation from 10-11am will be conducted on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Elk Lick Baptist Church in Spa, KY, with a funeral service at 11am. interment to follow in the Elk Lick Baptist Church Cemetery.
