Ms. Ruth Ernestine McMahon's Obituary
Ruth Ernestine McMahon, age 98, of Nashville, passed away on March 21, 2014. A native Nashvillian, Ernestine was born on July 19, 1915 to the late Eugene and Emma Joyce Kirchhofer. She was a lifelong member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and active in their “Young At Heart” organization for senior citizens.
Ernestine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She also extended her love to include the children of Brook Hollow Baptist Church by volunteering in the nursery.
In addition to her parents, Ernestine was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Marshall McMahon; brothers, Arthur and William Kirchhofer; sister, Joyce Shivers; and three infant siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Imogene Warner; grandsons, Stephen E., Timothy M., and Joseph E. Warner; grand-daughter, Karen M. Warner; a niece; and two nephews.
A Celebration of Life service in honor of Ernestine shall take place on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 11am, from the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in historic Spring Hill Cemetery, with grandsons and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014, from 1pm to 6pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
