Ruth Smith Witt's Obituary
WITT, Ruth Smith, Age 84 of Madison, TN. Born on September 20, 1925 in Jackson County, TN. Passed away July 20, 2010. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Euda Smith; her brother, Warren Smith, and her sister, Eula Swan. She is survived by her husband, Jim Witt; her three siblings, Geneva Morgan (Emery), Ted Smith (Betty) and Bill Smith (Charlie), sister-in-law, Betty Smith; her four children, Emily Frey (Randy), Scott Witt (Leanne), Donna Witt and Alan Witt (Alison); and her six beloved grandchildren, Jereme Frey (Brigid), Rea Frey, Alex Witt, Ashley Witt, Hayden Witt and Hannah Witt, her step great grandson Taighe Elliot and a host of other relatives and friends. Family visitation will be on Thursday July 22, from 2-8PM. Funeral services will be on Friday July 23 at 10AM in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Slate and Russ Corley officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Encouragement Ministries, PO Box 2082, Brentwood, TN 37024 and Alive Hospice, Inc., 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
