BOWMAN, Sam A., Age 70 of Madison, TN passed from this life on September 10, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Affectionately known in the community as the Lawn Mower Man, he was a loving family man with a generous heart, veteran Screaming Eagle of the 101Airborne, Shoney's Corporation and Restaurant owner, retiree. He is preceded in death by parents, Sam H. Bowman & Margie Collins natives of VA & NC. He is survived by wife of 49 years, Virginia Bowman. Daughters, Debbie (Fred) Rager, Elkton, KY, Dawn (Troy) Raymer, Hermitage, TN, Denise Bowman, Old Hickory, TN. Son, Sam A Bowman Jr. (Paula) of Whitehouse, TN. Sister Wilma (Bowman) Fleming, Brother, Raymond Grant (RG) Bowman, both of NC. Nine grandchildren, (Jamie, Corey, Donnie, Crystal, Tiffany, Christopher, Troy, Kirsti, Blaine). Nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2- 7 PM and on Monday from 1- 2 PM, services will be held on Monday at 2PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Lowery officiating. In Lieu of Flowers the family request donations be made to the Sam Bowman Memorial Fund at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
