Mr. Sam David Collins, Sr.'s Obituary
Sam Collins, Sr., age 79, passed away on October 3, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Nashville. Sam was born on August 22, 1935 and was the son of James and Florence Collins. Sam will be remembered as a strong-minded family man who, along with his late wife, was dedicated to raising his family. He was a block mason for most of his life, and worked hard to build a life for his wife and children. Sam loved to watch wrestling and Titans football, as well as western movies. When time allowed, he also enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Mary Collins, and his sister, Minnie Pearl Tanksley. He is survived by his children, Mable Vaughn (Randall), Samuel “Bubba” Collins, Jr. (Rhonda), Dorothy Jean Collins, Jackie Darlene Collins, Linda Darlene Collins; step-son, Clarence Miller; three step-daughters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; all of whom he loved greatly.
