Sara Lee Pearson's Obituary
Holding Close the Life of Sara Lee Pearson
August 17th, 1944 - September 14th, 2025
Mom never measured love in grand gestures; for Cheri and Shellee it was the steady sound of her voice at bedtime, the soothing touch of her hand, and the quiet strength of her encouragement. Even on the hardest days she made each of us feel like the only person in the room. She showed the same steady care to her grandsons James, Clayton, and Corbin.
Supportive, empathetic, resilient, compassionate, and honest—those five words follow her name in every story our family tells. She never over-explained kindness; she simply lived it and expected us to do the same.
Many mornings you could find her among the daylilies and roses, dirt on her knees and a grin on her face. She found peace and relaxation in her garden.
The other constant was a wagging tail. From childhood mutts to her gentle retriever Bailey, dogs were her chosen companions, each one treated like family with a spot on the couch and a bowl of leftovers. She would also find enjoyment exploring old country roads with her canine friends.
When she was younger, she would slip off to antique shops, hunting forgotten tables and chairs she could sand, stain, and love back to life. In later years, she rested by the koi pond, naming every fish and laughing when they gathered for the food she kept close by.
Mom joins her parents, Vernard and Mary Young, and her sister, Mary Virginia Golden, who went ahead of her. She is carried forward by her daughters Cheri Weaver and Shellee Stephens, grandsons James, Clayton, and Corbin Weaver, and her brother David Young—each of us a walking proof of her gentle strength.
We will keep tending her roses, tossing a treat to Bailey, and giving hugs that last a beat longer, just like she did. Thank you, Mom, for loving us so well; we’ll take it from here.
