Mrs. Sarah Denton Baun's Obituary
Mrs. Sarah Ellen Denton Baun, age 95 of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019. She was born in Springfield, Illinois to the late Lester and Eliza Byrd on November 30, 1923. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Ronald Denton, Sr., her second husband Glenn Baun, her son William Ronald Denton, Jr., her sister Ruth Venezia, and her brothers Loren Byrd and Melvin Byrd. She is survived by her children Marsha Rolfe (Michael), Daniel Denton (Theresa), Joyce Denton and Valerie Denton, her siblings Mildred Hutchinson and Lester Byrd (Permelia). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brandon Rolfe, Damion Denton, Adrian Rolfe, Sergio Moreno, Christy Moreno, Darren Rolfe, Daniel Moreno, and Tristan Denton, as well as her 10 great-grandchildren.
Sarah was a well cultured, well traveled, bright and beautiful lady. She and her first husband Ronald were missionaries in South America for 25 years. They traveled to and lived in Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay (where their oldest three children were born), and Brazil (where their youngest child was born), finally returning to the United States in 1970. In addition to English, she spoke Spanish, Portuguese, and German, and was teaching herself Italian just because. She loved nature, especially birds and flowers, and enjoyed reading and writing.
A visitation will take place Tuesday, November 12, from 10 AM until 12 PM at Spring Hill Funeral Home, Nashville. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 12 PM noon at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dan Denton, Michael Rolfe, Brandon Rolfe, Adrian Rolfe, Daniel Moreno, Tristan Denton, Sergio Moreno, Darren Rolfe, Damion Denton and Blake Rolfe.
