Sarah Elizabeth Nickens' Obituary
Sarah Elizabeth Nickens passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Sarah was born to William Paul and Nellie Elizabeth (Harp) Nees on January 1, 1944 in Nashville.
Sarah enjoyed home decorating, crocheting, doll collecting, was a huge Elvis fan, but most importantly she was devoted to her family and was affectionately known as “Granny” to her grandchildren.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband’s Jackie Phillips, Willard Nickens, and loving companion John Jones. She is also preceded in death by her son Jackie Phillips, brother Johnny Neese, and granddaughter Crystal Phillips.
She is survived by her son Roger (Melissa) Phillips, daughter in law Melissa Phillips-Beasley. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Tiffany Phillips, Marissa Mobley, Justin Phillips, Andrew Phillips, and Macy Phillips. In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchildren Braxton Mobley and Michael Mobley and her sisters Frankie Shockley (Lance), Patricia Youree (Charlie) Judy Smith; Brothers Timmy Neese (Katie) Bobby Neese (Tina) and Tommy Neese along with her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 4pm-8pm. Services are set for 11am, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 with a visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
