Sarah Rothermel Stuart, 48, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Saturday, December 5, 2020 after a tough battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband (Jonathan Creamer) and her two sons (Nathan and Alex Creamer). Sarah is also survived by her mother (Ellen Stuart) and her three siblings (Elizabeth Stuart, Mary Katherine Kraft, and John A. Stuart III).
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Sarah went to Swanee: The University of the South, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree. She then commenced a career in research, which culminated in her spending 15 years as a research assistant at Vanderbilt University.
It was while at Vanderbilt that Sarah met her husband, Jonathan, and they went on to spend more than eleven years together, during which they welcomed two boys into the world – Nathan, who is 9, and Alex, who is 6). Sarah lived for her family. She was such a kind and caring mother, who would do anything to give her sons a chance to be their best selves, and she was a loving and supportive wife. She will be sorely missed.
All those who knew Sarah will remember her smile, which lit up her face, and how she loved to laugh, loudly and often. Sarah was so friendly and giving of herself, and she cared deeply for those around her. As her sons would say, she was “a beautiful person, and a beautiful mommy.”
We are requesting that in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to contribute to Sarah’s legacy consider a donation to either Saint Joseph School or a charity of their choice.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 10am to 2pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 2pm. Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery. 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216. 615-865-1101.
