With hearts filled with gentle sorrow, we announce the passing of Sharon "Sherry" Eileen Butler Hudson on January 24th, 2025, in Nashville, TN. Born on July 15th, 1947, in Elmira, NY, Sherry touched the lives of many with her compassionate spirit and generous heart.
Known for her creativity, patience, generosity, ️compassion, and honesty, Sherry's life was a tapestry woven with acts of kindness and moments of joy. She loved playing Bingo, cherishing the fellowship and camaraderie that each game brought. An artist at heart, she found joy in painting and drawing, expressing her creative spirit through colors and shapes. Her love for music was evident in her poetry and songwriting, and in her younger years, she graced many with her beautiful voice, performing country music.
Family was everything to Sherry. She treasured family gatherings, especially around the holidays, when she lovingly prepared her special ham for dinner. Always positive and uplifting, Sherry brought warmth and happiness to those around her. A consummate organizer, she found solace in creating neat and tidy surroundings, believing that a peaceful environment nurtured a peaceful heart.
Sherry’s faith was strong, and she shared her testimony with her friends, family and perfect strangers. Her love for the Lord led her to generously give her love, time, and resources to anyone in need of a helping hand or a smile.
Sherry is survived by her loving children and their families: her daughter Robin Baggett and son-in-law Lynn Baggett; son Thomas Butler and daughter-in-law Kristi Butler; son Tim Butler, whose wife Debbie Butler preceded Sherry in passing; and son Rhett Butler and daughter-in-law Dava Butler, brother, Rick Crown and sister-in-law, Beverly Crown. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, whose gentle compassion touched each generation. She is also survived by a large extended family.
Sherry was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the memories of her gentle kindness and the love she shared so freely. Her favorite saying, "Family is everything," will continue to resonate in our hearts, reminding us to cherish one another every day.
Her legacy of kindness and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless ways she enriched our lives.
