Mr. Sherman Leroy Birdwell Jr's Obituary
Sherman Leroy Birdwell, Jr., 58, of Cottontown, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 in Nashville. Born June 12, 1962 in Gallatin, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Sherman Leroy Birdwell, Sr., and Veista Rose Birdwell.
Mr. Birdwell was a welder for many years for Grand Fire Protection. He possessed a strong work ethic, always worked hard and provided for his family. Leroy was greatly respected by family, friends, and so many thought highly of him for the man that he was. He was a family man who showed love in his own way. He enjoyed being in the company of friends and also enjoyed taking camping trips. He was a private person, but was a jokester to those who got close to him. Some friends will be left with the memory of him doing a dance he called ‘The Huckle Buck’. Leroy wasn't a religious man by any means and did not belong to any organizations. He lived out his life in the ways that he wanted to. But in the end, he was saved in the weeks before his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie Birdwell; children Eric Birdwell, Kelly Birdwell, and Jessica Tate; grandchildren Barbara Tate, Serenity Tate, Josie Mae Tate, Heavenly Tate, Zoe Blackwell, Kassitie Tate, Jordan Prince, and Sara Prince; sister Melody Birdwell; step-children Bobby (Corinne) Blackwell and Anthony Prince; nephews Damien and Dillon Birdwell.
Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery in Nashville has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements for Mr. Birdwell. Spring Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, "Where Nashville Comes To Remember."
