Mrs. Shirley Braswell Bennett's Obituary
The Lord called Shirley Braswell Bennett home on Thursday, August 11, 2022. A long-time resident of Madison, Tennessee, Shirley was born on March 29, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents James Calvin Braswell Sr. and Lillian Cornelia Braswell and son Barry Dwayne Bennett. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jimmy Bennett and son Keith Bennett of Matthews, North Carolina, and grandsons Jordan (Marileigh) and Steven. She is also survived by granddaughters Alyssa and Tabitha and great grandchildren Amelia, Diana, and Isaac. Shirley's brother James C. Braswell Jr. (Carol), niece Stacy (Mark) and nephew Jason. Shirley's sister Teresa Thetford (Tommy) and nephew William Matheny (Branden).
She leaves behind dear friends, Gary & Rene Garb, Evelyn Crouch, Frances Denton,
Lenora Bell, Aunt Billie Simpson, Braswell, Martin and Alexander cousins, and the
North High Lunch Bunch.
Shirley's career of choice first was data entry which evolved into medical transcription
for many years at several medical practices in the local Nashville area.
Shirley attended the First Apostolic Church in Madison until she was unable to attend.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16 from 4pm-8pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at 10am at First Apostolic Church with Pastor Dee Jay Shoulders presiding. Burial will follow at DeKalb County Memorial Gardens in Smithville, Tennessee.

Pallbearers include Jordan Bennett, Steven Bennett, William Matheny, Jason Braswell, Dallas Braswell and Gary Garb. Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Ellis and Brian Martin, Jr.
