Shirley Mae Buell's Obituary
Shirley M. Buell, 88, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024. She was born in Maysville, Kentucky on April 6, 1936, to Hazel Rickertts.
She is predeceased by her mother, and Hazel Winters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are children, Sue Bibb of Cottontown, TN, Patty Buell of Murfreesboro, TN, Burl and Sheila Fulcher of LaVergne, TN, and Michael and April Buell of Nashville, TN, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Shirley led a rich and diverse life, fueled by her various interests. Her unwavering passion for roller skating filled her teenage years and early adulthood, as she glided across the rink. She was a dedicated caregiver to her entire family, especially her four children and grandchildren.
An avid reader, Shirley immersed herself in the pages of true crime novels, unraveling mysteries and delving into thrilling narratives. Her curiosity didn’t stop there—she was captivated by the enigma of ancient Egyptology. The pyramids, hieroglyphs, and the rich history of Egypt fascinated her. When not engrossed in books or tending to her family, Shirley scoured local yard sales, always on the lookout for that special item—whether her loved ones needed it or not.
Shirley’s legacy is one of compassion, intellectual curiosity, and an unyielding commitment to those she cherished. The family will receive friends at Spring Hill Funeral home on Monday, April 22, 2024, will take place from 4-8pm. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 12 pm noon.
