Mrs. Shirley Ann (Pruitt) Carlisle's Obituary
Ms. Shirley Ann Pruitt Carlisle, 82, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021. Born October 23, 1938 in Lincoln County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Wheeler Pruitt and Jennie Estell Taylor Pruitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Carlisle; son James Keith Carlisle; grandchildren Hannah and Caleb Carlisle, Robert Mclendon, and April Putty. She is survived by her daughters Sheila (Chuch) Lehane, Tenna (Art) Cardell, Dena Carlisle, and Wendy Carlisle; sons Michael Carlisle and Donnie (Donna) Carlisle, as well as close family friend Jeff Dickens.
Shirley was a kind, sweet lady, who was loved by all who met her. She was a preschool teacher for many years, and it was a career perfectly suited for her, as she was a natural caregiver. She was loving and generous, and would always lend a helping hand to anyone who asked her. In her free time, Shirley enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies including reading, quilting, crocheting, gardening, and collecting antiques.
A visitation and service for Ms. Carlisle is being planned and will be announced to this obituary once all details are finalized.
