Mrs. Shirley Petty's Obituary
Shirley Jean Petty, age 77, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee. Shirley was born on May 24, 1939 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Percy Clark Miller and Mary Emma McGinnis.
Shirley was an avid sports fan. She bred and showed Dalmatians throughout her life and was past president of the Dalmatian society as well as a member of the Nashville Kennel Club for years. She enjoyed the time spent with her family and cherished the life she had been given to live.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of nearly forty years, John Petty.
Shirley is survived by daughter, Mitzie Curtis and husband, David; sons, Keith Lanius and wife, Sheila, Michael Lanius and wife, Connie; four grandchildren, Casey Lanius, Brittney White and husband Jeramie, Alisha Wood and husband, James, Tyler Lanius and wife, Chelsea; She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Church, 1225 Gallatin Pike S. Madison, TN 37115. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will follow in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
