Sue Bena Duff Clark's Obituary
Sue Bena Duff Clark, age 96, passed away October 2, 2012. Sue was born on December 4, 1915 in Nashville, TN to the late Alfred Brooks and Gertrude Rickert Duff. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edgar Ellis Clark, and granddaughter, Debbie Austin Makaryk. Sue’s loves were Tennessee and her family. She was an active member of Brentwood United Methodist Church until her move to Florida in 1997 where she became a member of Hodges Blvd. Presbyterian Church. She loved gardening and was a member of the Garden Club of Nashville. Sue also was a member of The National Association of Women in Construction, Nashville Chapter and The Woman’s Auxiliary of the Nashville Drug Club. Sue and her husband, Ed, were supporters of the Tennessee Volunteers and enjoyed traveling to Knoxville for many years for football games. Sue’s love and devotion for her family will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Karen Austin-Neptune Beach, FL; granddaughter, Lesa Austin-Jacksonville, FL; step-daughter, LoRetta Sherley-Hallettsville, TX; step-greatgrandson, Robby Piker-Beaumont, TX; grandsons, Jason and Caleb Austin-CA; niece, Kitty Ann Donovan and family-Melbourne, FL; nephew, Warlick Clark (Karen) and family-Medina, TN; as well as many other family members. The family would like to thank Sue’s extended family at Atria San Pablo for their devoted caregiving the past 5 years. The family also thanks the staff at McGraw Hospice Center for their commitment of compassionate care for Sue and her family. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 in the chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home of Nashville, TN, followed by a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sue’s name to Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257 or Atria San Pablo Employee Fund, 14199 Wm Davis Pkwy, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
