Ms. Tammie Lucielle Lavender's Obituary
Tammie Lucille Troutt was born December 16th 1965 in Nashville tennessee. To her mother Harriett Troutt and her late father Joe Troutt. She is also proceeded in death by daughter LaTamara D. Troutt and granddaughter Cinyah Troutt.
At a young age Tammie enjoyed playing softball for Shelby Park. She also enjoyed fishing with her family, which became a lifelong hobby!
Tammie attended Metro Public Schools. She later graduated class of 1984 from East Nashville High. She went on to further her education by attending Nashville College for Medical Assisting. She also completed beauty school at the Madison Beauty School.
Her love for the medical field was undeniable and she went on to work for Vanderbilt in a number of different areas for several years. She also made sure to stay true to her other love, cosmetology, making sure to fit in her nail and hair clients on the weekends!
Tammie love for God and church was undeniable! She joined and was baptized in 1991 at Christ Temple North Church where she directed The Children's Choir and was a part of the Adult Choir. She later became a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and was also a dedicated member of the choir until her death.
Tammie had a true love for neo soul music. She enjoyed listening to Adele and Jill Scott while undergoing chemo during her battle with breast cancer, of which she was a survivor in 2012.
Tammie was a very devoted mother to her three beautiful daughters Latoya, Latrisha, and LaTamara. She was also a devoted grandmother to seven wonderful grandchildren. She was often found attending Little League games, attending local poetry readings, or running with East Nasty Running Group. Her hobbies range from photography, capturing all of her family's precious moments, or to her favorite hobby of all, dancing! Tammie was truly the life of the party!
Tammie is survived by her mother Harriett Troutt, devoted daughters Latoya and Latrisha Troutt. her loving grandchildren Tamya, Mariah, Charles Taliyah, Cameron ,Tamia and Justice. sister Sherrie(Wallie)Anderson, brother Joe Troutt, niece Katie Anderson, nephew Jeremy Allen, a host of aunts, uncles, and relatives. The family of Ms. Tammie Lavender invites friends and visitors to join them in a time of visitation and remembrance at Spring Hill Funeral Home on Sunday June 11, 2023 from 1pm to 4pm. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Monday June 12, 2023 at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church (908 Monroe St, Nashville, TN 37208) with the family receiving visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
