My Uncle was truly a great man. I am so heartbroken over his death . My mom really loved my uncle . He was a great brother to all his sisters . He had a up-bringing he made the best of what he had . My grandmother Sue was Amazing lady she loved me so much . She was a great woman . She raised 4 children by herself. Uncle Terry became a school teacher and he taught for 45 yrs .
He was so amazing. He taught me how to ski .
I stayed with him and my Aunt Sandra before I went to Boot Camp and I was a young man . I left my family went to boot camp and I came back a Man and a Marine . He gave me encouragement and along with my parents and siblings I made it . He was a man that will never be equaled again. He gave his time and love..He will be missed but he will always be in our hearts. He will always be. I love you Uncle thank you for being there for me and my mother and I will never forget you. My Uncle Terry was a great man. You could tell him anything and he would listen.He would help you and give the shirt off his back . He had a big heart . I remember him teaching me how to ski .when I went in the Marines he was there for me . He was a great coach. A great father and husband . Always family , He was a man of His word . His memory will always be with all of us . All the lives he touched, and he will live forever. Uncle Terry I love you with all my heart.

Coach Douglas, Ewing Park basketball! Great memories. I often saw Coach Douglas at Vandy basketball. More recent saw him buying lunch at Firehouse Subs which he told me he ate there so often the employees knew him. He was happy, all smiles, had a great conversation. He will be missed by family and friends. Linda O (Coach called me Taylor every time I saw him all these years later)

I was in Coach Douglas’ physical science class and a member of his girls basketball team at Ewing Park in the late 60’s. He was so kind to us; and so much fun. I have never forgotten him. It is strange to think that he was only 11 or 12 years older than his students! What a wonderful man. I am very sorry for your loss.

I met Terry, a planet fitness. It was 25 years my senior never once. Did he mentioned he was sick at any time. His first questions were always about my kids and what they were up to and how they were doing. Then we'd share a laugh and a joke. The gym isn't the same since Terry. Has left us. He came in to moderately. Workout, there's muscles. But mostly he worked out his jaws, because he was one of the nicest people to talk to, and he talked to everybody period lol. I will miss you Terry. I just found out about your passing and I wish I could have attended your service but I didn't know may your rest in peace, my friend

The world doesn't seem right without Terry. He loved me as a little child at the YMCA and took me under his wing teaching me all kinds of dives and flips. Our friendship continued as the years flew by. Years would pass and we'd run into each other and pick right back up. He was like none other always happy, loving his family and his career. I'm so grateful to God for allowing me the privilege of having a beautiful friendship with Terry. This little red haired girl, even tho much older now will always love Terry.......always.

So grateful for the way Coach Douglas poured into me during my time at McGavock in the late 80’s. He was my chemistry teacher, Junior Civitan sponsor, and always an encouraging mentor. Praying for his family.
