Thelma Jean Castleman's Obituary
Thelma Jean (Teal) Castleman, a longtime resident of Nashville, died Nov. 1, 2012. Born Nov. 17, 1912 in Manchester, TN to Drury Clair and Naomi Mattie (Anderson) Teal. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Henry Castleman, Sr., infant daughter Sandra Jean, brother Clair Leicester Teal, and sisters Earlene Mildred Grubbs and Lola LDrury Grubbs. She is survived by her son, John Henry Castleman, Jr. and wife Roxanne of Tolland, CT; granddaughters, Bonnie Lee (Jim) Vangieri, Laurel Jean (Keith) Stearns, Sarah Elizabeth Castleman and Emily Ann Castleman; great-grandchildren, Melissa (Walden) Uriarte, Brian Stearns, Kristen Korzenowski and Kate (Paulo) Walters, all in Connecticut; and large extended family in TN. Jean's great niece Mary Johannes and neighbor Ann Puryear were constant companions and support in the last years of her life. Thelma Jean was a long time member of Judson Baptist Church. Visitation 10 am Tues Nov. 6 at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Service by Dr. Raymond Langlois at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Nashville Rescue Mission.
