Thomas M. Burns' Obituary
Maj. Thomas (Tom) Milan Burns was born on November 2, 1947, in Fort Dix, NJ, and passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 77. He grew up in Radcliff, KY and moved to the Nashville area while serving in the Air Force.
Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay of Nashville, children, Tim (Kim) of Murfreesboro and Tony of Nashville, grandchildren, Tyler, Laney, Ashlyn, and Drew, brother Pete (Leigh) of Mobile, AL and brother-in-law, Charles Burkhard of Ocean Springs, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents Col. Fred and Naomi Burns, brothers, Fred, Kevin, and Brian Burns, sister, Barbara Burkhard.
Mr. Burns was a member of the Donelson Church of Christ. He graduated from North Hardin High School and the University of Tennessee, Nashville. Tom retired from the Air Force and Metro Parks. He enjoyed being Santa’s helper after retirement as well as serving in many church ministries.
Visitation will be Friday, May 2 from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday, May 3rd from 12 to 1 PM with funeral services at 1 PM at Donelson Church of Christ. Interment with military honors will follow at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. Russ King and Frank Batson will be officiating.
Pallbearers will include grandsons and church friends.
