My name is Dewey Taylor. I first met Butch when we were stationed together at Incirlik Air Force Base, Adana, Turkey, in 1964 - 65. He became my closest friend, as we were in the same Air Police Squadron, and lived in the same barracks. Butch was probably the most easy going man I have ever known. He was always smiling, cracking jokes and keeping every one laughing. He also had the craziest K-9 dog named Wilson that any one ever saw. This dog was so hyper, he didn't walk, he bounced. They could only work at night, and only for 2 hours so the dogs would not lose there sense of awareness. Not a problem for Wilson.
After I left service, we kept in touch, and one weekend my wife and I drove to Nashville and spent the weekend at Butch's home, and went to the club several times.
I apologize for the lateness of this story, but I just found the obituary, and I just had to write this. I sit here now, writing this, and I'm crying for the friend that I lost, but will never forget. You were my brother Butch, and I love you.
