Treasia Mae Guy's Obituary
Treasia Mae Guy, Always the First to Hug You
June 2nd, 1954 – August 21st, 2025
Our family matriarch, treasured mother, sister, wife, grandmother, and friend, Treasia Mae Guy left us on August 21st in Old Hickory, Tennessee, after a long illness. She was 71, yet her kind spirit still feels close and bright.
Born in Nashville on June 2nd, 1954, Treasia grew up seeing every gathering as a chance to pull people closer. From an early age she carried an easy laugh and a natural talent for looking after anyone who crossed her path.
If you ever tasted her homemade chili or her famous “sketti,” you know how she showed love through food. At Christmas she decorated every corner, planned the menu, and made sure cousins, aunts, and newborns all shared the same table.
Away from the stove she painted ceramic keepsakes, filled adult coloring books with bold shades, and never turned down a round of rook or a loud game of Pictionary. Cats curled at her feet while Hallmark movies, crime shows, or a good mystery novel played nearby, and music drifted through the house.
What we remember most is that infectious laugh and the way she made each of us feel seen. Kind, supportive, empathetic, loyal, and generous—those words follow her name wherever it is spoken.
We will keep her recipes, her hand-painted ornaments, and the warmth she placed in every room, and we will pass them on just as she passed on her love. Rest easy, Treasia; your joyful spirit lives on in every shared meal, every family game night, and every burst of laughter that echoes through our homes.
Those who have passed on before her are her parents, George and Irene Hayes, and brother, Anthony Hayes.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 55 years and 8 months, Danny Guy, children, Patrick Guy and Angela (Jim Sawyers, Jr.) Guy, grandchildren, Christine Guy-Baker, Sarah Howard, Andrew Guy, Alex Guy, brother, Jerry (Reba) Hayes, Sr., aunt, Mary Holleman, close cousins, Diana Baum, and Ronnie (Diane) Hayes, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
