Troy Eugene Lynn's Obituary
LYNN, Troy Eugene, Age 86, of Nashville, TN passed away at his home in the early morning of July 6, 2009. He was born on September 11, 1922 in the Brimstone Community of Jackson County, TN, where he attended Brimstone and Big Bottom schools. He later graduated from East High School, attended Lipscomb University, served in the U.S. Army, during WWII as a commissioned officer, and was manager of the Tokyo PX. During his six years in Tokyo he met his wife Pauli Ricci, where their first son was born. Upon returning to Nashville in 1951 he purchased the drug store that he had worked at as a teenage curb boy. In addition to owning and operating Lynn Drugs at 6th and Shelby for over 55 years, Mr. Lynn served on the Nashville School Board and was the purchasing director for the Nashville Metropolitan Government. He was an active member of the community, public speaker, Sunday school teacher, bridge player, big band dancer, and was beloved by all. He will be sadly missed. Mr. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Jennie Lynn as well as his wife Pauline Lynn. He is survived by his children, Ricci (Lisa) Lynn, Cynthia Lynn, and Foster (Debbie) Lynn; 1 brother, Clyde (Jacque) Lynn, and a sister Grace (Charles) Jones; grandchildren, Anthony Sprott, Jamie Sprott, Brad (Tracy) Lynn, Jonathan Lynn, Jordan Lynn and Mary Lynn; great grandchildren, Cyni, Alexa, Shan, and Morgan; he also leaves behind a cherished friend Peggy Hudson. Funeral services will be on Thursday July 9, 2009 at 2PM in the Chapel of Spring Hill Funeral Home with Wayne Willis officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 5-8PM and on Thursday just prior to services at Spring Hill Funeral Home. Entombment will follow services in Spring Hill Serenity Chapel Mausoleum, where pallbearers will be Brad Lynn, Jonathan Lynn, Jordan Lynn, Anthony Sprott, Skip Dean and Jim Bayless.
