Troy “Ricci” Lynn, age 70, of Hermitage, TN passed away at his home in the early morning of December 5, 2020. He was born on June 16, 1950 in Tokyo, Japan the son of Troy and Pauli (Ricci) Lynn both of whom preceded him in death.
Ricci grew up in Nashville. After graduating from Stratford High School, Ricci earned his undergraduate degree from Trevecca and his doctorate degree from the UT Pharmacy School in Memphis. Ricci worked side‐by‐side with his dad at Lynn’s Drug Store at 6th and Shelby, a fixture in east Nashville for decades.
Eventually Ricci succeeded his dad as the owner and operator of Lynn’s Drug Store. For over forty years Ricci built upon and added to the legacy begun by his father, serving the community as a rock solid “Doc” and a caring soul to all his customers. Whether gathering for a Titans home tailgate, causing a stir at a roulette table in Vegas or Tunica, taking
in his granddaughter’s softball games, or just spending time with his garden and landscape, Ricci loved life’s moments. He especially loved to dance with his wife Lisa. From playing football in high school (where, in his senior year, his team went to the Clinic Bowl), to throwing darts with his friends, to working seven days a week at the drug store, to coaching a kid’s sports team, to watching a UT game, to relaxing on a beach, or even when he spent time with his extended “Ricci” family on their farms in Illinois when he was a kid, Ricci’s kind heart was always evident. Ricci made caring friends everywhere he went. His warmth and kindness drew others to him.
Ricci was loved and will be missed by so many. Ricci is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Lynn; sons, Brad (Tracy) Lynn, Jordan (Diana) Lynn; daughter, Mary Lynn; brother, Foster (Debbie) Lynn; sister, Cynthia Lynn; grandchildren, Paige and Ivy Lynn; nieces and nephews, Jamie Sprott, Tony Sprott and Jonathan Lynn; sisters‐in‐law, Leigh Hayes and Kim (Cayce)
Nanney; and many other relatives. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 4pm to 7pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 12pm with an hour of visitation prior. Entombment to follow services in historic Spring Hill Cemetery. 5110 Gallatin Road, Nashville, TN 37216. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ricci’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
