Mr. V. Leon Williams' Obituary
Virgil Leon Williams, 94, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2020. He was born on July 5, 1926 in Nashville, TN the son of Virgil and Ethel (Barnes) Williams both of whom preceded him in death.
Leon graduated from the East Nashville High School and served proudly in the United States Navy immediately following. He was employed by General Electric Supply in Sales for 41 years. Leon was instrumental in raising funds for the building of the Lakeside Ball Fields and Central High School Football Stadium in the 1960’s.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years to Grace P. Williams; son David Williams (Nancy); sister Joyce Ann Cavender.
Leon was preceded in death by his siter Elizabeth Rodgers and brother Gene Williams.
Leon’s graveside service will be on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery at 5110 Gallatin Pike South, Nashville, TN 37216.
